Bosch has been named a finalist for the prestigious "Best of Technology Award 2026" by WirtschaftsWoche in the "Production" category. The nomination honors the Bosch Shopfloor Agent, an innovative solution that combines generative artificial intelligence with decades of Bosch manufacturing expertise to drastically reduce unplanned downtime.
The jury highlighted both the high degree of technological innovation and its concrete business value. The Shopfloor Agent assists employees throughout the entire process, ranging from voice-initiated incident reporting and troubleshooting to automated documentation. This not only overcomes language and communication barriers but also delivers a massive boost to shopfloor efficiency. First customer deployments demonstrate an annual saving potential of around €850,000 for an average plant, yielding a full return on investment (ROI) within the first year.
Unlike generic AI applications, the Shopfloor Agent is pre-trained with the deep domain knowledge of the Bosch Production System. This guarantees expert-level answer quality and ensures a seamless integration into existing "brownfield" manufacturing environments.
